IL LADRO NASCOSTO (also known as THE HIDDEN THIEF) is a card game that brings back the fun and excitement of a childhood memory game. The game is inspired by a simple paper game that the creator used to play with his extended family, called “police catch thief”.
In this game, each player would pick a piece of paper with a profession written on it, such as doctor, teacher, or thief. The player who happened to pick the police paper would be the police, and would have to guess who was the thief among the others. If the police guessed correctly, they would score a point. If not, they would lose a point.
The creator takes this concept and turns it into a deck of cards, adding more elements of interactivity, strategy, and surprise. The new deck of cards uses different types of characters and articles such as thief, police, cash, judge, items, and actions.
Each player gets a hand of cards and keeps them hidden from the others. The goal of each player is to collect the necessary amount of police cards that empower them to guess who might have the thief card. A thief can be a player who has a thief card or a player who has item cards whose value is greater than the value of the cash cards in their possession.
While each player tries to get the necessary police cards to guess who the thief is, they also have the task of getting rid of any thief card, balancing the value of their item cards with that of their cash cards. The game includes action cards that can completely change the dynamics of the playing field, such as swapping cards, stealing cards, discarding cards or revealing cards.
The HIDDEN THIEF is a game that is playable by anyone, anywhere, and at anytime. It’s easy to learn, quick to play, it’s full of fun and suspense. It’s a perfect game for family and friends, as it encourages communication, cooperation, and competition.
